Hiking in the Ehrbach gorge
One of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Hunsrück meanders through the Ehrbach gorge at Emmelshausen – with soft river banks and rugged cliffs from Buchholz to Brodenbach. The Ehrbach stream has created a beautiful valley which is ideal for hiking.
The actual gorge stretches over 1.5 kilometres between Daubisbergermühle and Eckmühle. Part of the path is carved into the rock but fully secured and also ideal for less experienced hikers. The path through the Ehrbach gorge delights with its great variety as it rambles over bridges, walkways, fallen trees and past waterfalls. The wildly romantic Ehrenburg castle is one of three medieval castles and a wonderful destination on your way through the gorge.
